BEHIND THE BOOK

This project aims to raise a total of $3,000 by September 1, 2019. One hundred percent of the proceeds will be awarded to an Afghan nursing student and contribute to new resources for a library. Any additional funds raised over $3,000 will be donated to the Tasahol organization and used at their discretion for future initiatives.

Alia's Nursing Degree

Goal: $1,000

In 2018 alone, three pregnant women from Alia's home village of Turgani passed away due to complications during delivery. Passionate and determined to be a source of positive change, Alia is currently pursuing a degree in nursing. Upon completion of her studies, she plans to return home where she will become the village's first midwife.

Proceeds from this book will be used to sponsor Alia's final year of university, which averages around $500 a semester.

Tasahol Library

Goal: $2,000

Located in Kabul, Tasahol is a newly established social organization focused on youth and education. Hoping to expand their impact in the region, they are working on creating a small library where students traveling from surrounding provinces can conduct research, use the internet, or have a quiet place to study.

Proceeds from this book will be used to support their latest project by purchasing a large table, eight chairs, two bookshelves, and two computers for the library.
